FAQ

Frequently asked questions

If your question is not here, call 021 143 9810 and we will talk it through.

Do I need to book or can I walk in?

Both work. We take bookings if you want a set time with your barber, and we take walk-ins when there is a chair free. Weekends and late afternoons get busy, so a booking is the safe bet if your day is tight.

How long does a cut take?

A standard cut runs about 30 minutes. A skin fade with a beard tidy is closer to 45 minutes because the detail work takes time to get clean. We would rather take the extra ten minutes than send you out with a line that is not sharp.

Do you do skin fades and beard work?

Yes, fades are our bread and butter, from a low taper to a bald skin fade. We also do beard shapes, line ups and hot towel finishes. If you want the cut and beard to work together as one look, just say so when you sit down.

How often should I come in for a fade?

Most guys book every two to three weeks to keep a fade looking fresh. A longer scissor cut can stretch to four or five weeks. If you have an event coming up, get in a few days before rather than the day of, so it settles.

Do you cut kids' hair?

We do. Bring them in and we will keep it relaxed and quick. If it is their first cut, let us know and we will take it slow so they leave happy rather than scared of the clippers.

Can I bring a photo of the cut I want?

Please do. A photo tells us more than words, and it means we are both aiming at the same result. We will be honest about what will suit your hair type and face shape, and how to keep it looking good between visits.

What payment do you take?

We take card, contactless and cash. Payment is at the end once you are happy with the cut. If you want to sort a regular slot, we can talk about that at the chair.

Where are you and is there parking?

We are in Newmarket, Auckland, close to the main shops. There is street parking nearby and the usual Newmarket car parks are a short walk. Give yourself a couple of minutes to find a spot on a busy day.
